Ethiopia is now  one of fastest growing country. This growth is also attributed by different sectors like economy, health, construction, service, education, Tourism and others.  To measure the growth of each sector there is a need of having data  to give relevant information. Data is not only important for measurement but also  for both applied  and basic researches.  Data from samples are obtained in various ways such as measurements, counts, observations, interviews, self-administered questionnaires.   These collected data  should be  analyzed with appropriate Statistical Models giving evidence based information and general conclusion  about the whole thing  in which the government , policy makers, planers ,researchers  and Scientists want to know.  Statistics is coming more important today than ever because it is the only way to have evidence based information and to predict future World. There is a growing  demand of Statistics among Different stakeholders today  because it is all about proper design of data collection,  collecting accurate data, organizing and\/or presenting collected data for description,  analyzing to extract important information and scientifically interpreting the output. Therefore having numerous importance, Statistics as a discipline should be advanced and its concepts , principles , and models must be known by everyone. For this purpose Statistics department in DebreMarkos University is striving   to educate more students , train staff members and the community in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can sustain   Ethiopia\u2019s economy through wise use of Statistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
