Courses taught:
I taught two main modules for undergraduate students.
1. Botanical Science Courses: Phycology, Bryophytes and Pteridophytes, Seed plants and Plant Physiology.
2. Ecological and Environmental Biology Courses: Principles of Ecology, Conservation and Management of Natural Resources, Introduction to Ethnobiology, and Soil Sciences.
Post Graduate students:
I taught different courses in the M.Sc. program in Botanical Sciences, including Plant Community Ecology, Plant Biodiversity Management, Plant Nutrition and Soil Fertility and, Research Methods and Scientific Writing.
Achievements and awards:
- Awarded a visiting fellowship by the Institute for Environmental Futures, University of Leicester, UK from April 16, 2024 to October 05, 2024.
- Actively participated in the Environmental Futures Café at the University of Leicester, engaging in discussions on Quantifying Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services (From May 2024 till June 2024.G.C.).
- Participated in the International Conference on Ecology and Environment, held at the University of Leicester from April 15 to 19, 2024.
- Participated in the UK National Earth Observation (EO) Conference 2024, held from 10th to 12th September at the National STEM Centre in York, United Kingdom.
- Participated on training on Introduction to R for Ecology and Conservation organized by Stockholm University, Sweden (From January 22-23, 2018 GC)
- Participated on training in the workshop of SAGAGIS/Geographic information systems & Science in organized by the Department of Plant Biology and Biodiversity Management at Addis Ababa University, and ARBONETH PROJECT (Hamburg University, Germany) (From March 26 to 30, 2018 GC).
